My Approach

Change is possible.

When you are struggling, you may not want vague reassurance or another generic treatment plan. You may want clarity: What is happening? Why has it been so hard to change? What would actually help?

My work begins there.

I take a thoughtful and individualized approach to psychiatric care, integrating psychotherapy, neuropsychiatry, clinical hypnosis, guided imagery, and medication expertise when appropriate. Together, we work to understand the patterns, symptoms, strengths, and life experiences that have brought you to this point — and to identify a path forward that is specific to you.

Treatment may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, clinical hypnosis, guided imagery, and other evidence-based approaches. Medication may be recommended when appropriate, but it is only one of many tools available to support healing and meaningful change.

Because every person’s goals and needs are unique, I begin with a brief consultation to understand what you are looking for and determine whether my practice is the right fit for you..

My Training

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry. My background includes years of neuroscience research, beginning with a Master's degree in Neuroscience from McGill University in Canada, followed by a brain imaging research fellowship at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

I completed my general psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), followed by fellowship training at Stanford University. My clinical training also includes extensive experience in clinical hypnosis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Alongside my clinical practice, I have remained active in academic medicine through teaching, research, and scholarly publications. I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring medical students, psychiatry residents, and fellows.

These experiences have prepared me to meet you.
